Rock Bottom Restaurant & Brewery

3 minute read:

In today’s world, most people don’t go to a bar just to have a drink or go to a restaurant just to eat. We have way too many options now for such activities to feel like a necessity. If we’re being honest, most people look for a good experience with a brand they know and trust. So if you’re “most people,” maybe a good place to find yourself at would be Rock Bottom...and no I don’t mean rock bottom in life, I mean Rock Bottom the brewery and restaurant.

The Rock Bottom story is actually really cool and not many of their loyal customers even realize where the name comes from. The first location was brought up in an old Prudential building in Colorado. They claimed the vault space in the basement of the building, and because of the location, it was tough to think of a name. When someone said “we can’t get any more rock bottom than this,” the name was found and has stuck ever since.

My first time visiting had me realizing right off the bat that this place has no shame showing you what they’re all about. Burgers and beers. Who doesn’t want to go out and enjoy a fresh house brewed beer with a nice fat burger? So much focus on this theme may seem a little intense, but I assure you they do well at keeping a friendly environment. They hit casual in all the right areas. There’s just enough light throughout to make you feel at home, and their brewing setup gives you plenty to look at. It’s just a perfectly casual place with a lot of space and a lot of regulars who come back for the quality.

You can never go wrong with a burger and beer at this place, but what if you aren’t in the mood for a burger? Don’t worry, they’ve got you covered with a menu boasting plenty of other mouth watering choices. On my first visit, I had a hard time pinning down a good choice so I asked for help. Their three most popular crafted entrees are their Classic Mac N’ Chicken, their Chicken Fried Chicken, and their Cod Fish N’ Chips. I won’t lie, I still ended up going with a burger on my first visit because of all the good things I heard from my friends. Since my first visit however, I’ve finally made it through all three of those other fan favorites and have to tell you there isn’t a wrong choice unless you’re one of those wierdos who doesn’t like fish.

I’d be lying if I said Rock Bottom has a beyond unique look, so I won’t say it. Having a more corporate look has definitely turned people away in the past who look for those “hole in the wall” places. But let’s be honest, sometimes those hole in the wall places can be sort of hit or miss. After you’ve given Rock Bottom a chance, you’ll be sure to find your way back in one of their seats in the near future. The experience isn’t out of this world, but the experience is consistent, and it’s consistently good. Oh, and did I mention every location brews in house? So yeah, you get a corporate feel but the food is consistently good from location to location, and the beer is always freshly brewed just a few feet from where you’re drinking it.

Still not convinced to make your first visit? You must be looking for a restaurant with good service, not just good food. So, how is the customer service at Rock Bottom? For me personally, it has been consistently good just like everything else. Without good service, I just like many others will not return to a restaurant. The wait staff here always seem excited to see first timers and are there to help through the beer and food menus. To seal the deal, the best part about the customer experience might have to be their loyalty program. It uses an interactive points system, making dining with Rock Bottom that much more memorable.

It’s quite simple...they have good food, good beer, and good service. Don’t hesitate and get your butt over to Rock Bottom where everyone belongs.
